Thanksgiving 2010

This weekend Megan, Emily, Teagan, and ME made the 3 and 1/2 hour bus ride to the valley to visit Uncle Dennis and St. Croix for some Thanksgiving festivities! We froze our butts off but had a grand old time. Uncle Dennis made us a scrumtious chicken dinner and we had a lovely visit. His house is looking really good! (see pictures) and they should be finished shingling the outside pretty soon he said. The upstairs is really cool, I can't wait to see it when it's fully finished. We went on a hike down the stream, past the orchard (baby trees and old shoe right where you left them), to the beach and the waves were bigger than I've ever seen in my life! We were almost swept out to see on a few occaisions and we all left a bit soggier than we arrived. The cabin looks great with its new shingles and the road down to the beach was holding up nicely. We stayed the two nights in the school house and had a fire in the stove but it didn't quite manage to keep us warm. The new shingles are still all there, and the mask at the top is hilarious! The wind was unbelievable the whole time up until 6am Monday morning (which is when we had to wake up to make sure everything was packed up nicely before the bus got to town at 9). We checked out the kids' fort which was just the way they left it minus some foliage. The garage and the main house looked nice, no mouse poop in sight! And no secret stash of hot chocolate either, unfortunately for us chilly girls :(. So yeah, overall worth the trip!
(The pics are in reverse chronological order btw)

Snuggling for warmth. Unfortunately I have a space issue and had to fend for myself in the single bed haha.
